Blueprint Intelligence / Firm Narrative and Track Record / How to reconcile fundraising materials before an LP sees them
Firm Narrative and Track Record
Create one source of truth for the fund size, strategy, portfolio construction, team and track record, then make every external document agree with it.
An LP rarely reads a pitch deck in isolation. The deck, DDQ, model, track record, website and legal documents are compared as one evidence set. A contradiction does not need to be dramatic to create doubt. Two check sizes, two versions of the team or two definitions of the track record can make the manager look less controlled than the underlying fund really is.
List the facts that appear in more than one place. Record the approved value, its definition, its effective date and the document that supports it. Do not begin by editing the deck. Begin by deciding which statement is true.
A search for repeated numbers catches only the easiest errors. One document may describe an initial check while another uses total exposure. A deck may count a prior investment that the track-record schedule excludes. Record the definition and period beside every figure so a legitimate difference can be explained instead of silently overwritten.
If two figures are both correct, label the scope and date of each one. Consistency does not mean forcing unlike measures to match.
Assign one owner to approve the source record. Correct the model or evidence schedule first, then update the deck, DDQ, one-pager, website and room index. Add a last-updated date and remove superseded versions from the LP-facing set.
Before sharing, open the room through the same link the LP will receive. Confirm that the current files are visible, downloadable and named clearly, and that older versions are not still in circulation.
Source check recorded: October 17, 2026.
The date records the source check, not a guarantee that the position is unchanged. Confirm current rules and requirements with the original source and your qualified advisers before relying on them for a decision.
Check one current document
Upload a pitch deck, DDQ or track-record schedule. Blueprint will identify claims that need support or reconciliation.
